Sharp increase in global Caustic Soda price and DG Cargo freight

While the Caustic Soda market in the Western markets remained stable this week, with US and European prices remaining almost unchanged, Eastern markets were in a state of chaos.

The prices of Caustic Soda Flakes and Pearls have increased by $ 60 per ton and the price of Caustic Soda Liquid has increased by $ 20 per ton during the last week in China. The primary reason for the increase of pricing in China is that production levels have been reduced in order to lower industries’ electricity and energy expenditures. Many firms are running at half capacity as a result of electricity rationing, and supply is tough in China.

Concerning the supply chain in Iran, prices of Caustic Soda continued to rise last week, increasing by 11% over the previous week.

For the second time during this month, shipping lines will be subject to apply GRI.

The desire of shipping companies in handling DG cargo has waned, and DG cargo has been harmed in Jebel Ali.

Demand for Caustic Soda will increase as the Northern Hemisphere’s agricultural harvest season begins, and historically, soap and detergent manufacturers increase production from September to May.

In conclusion, seasonal demand and freight are both increasing at the moment, and the market is prepared to submit new record prices.
