Oxidized Bitumen 115/25

Oxidized bitumen 115/25, also known as blown bitumen 115/25 or bitumen 115 25, is a hard industrial grade produced by blowing air through soft bitumen at high temperature. The numbers describe the grade: 115 is the nominal softening point in °C (the specification range is 110-120 °C), and 25 is the nominal penetration at 25 °C in tenth-millimetres (specification 20-30 dmm). Compared with 115/15, this grade is slightly softer and more flexible, so it handles temperature swings and mechanical stress better without cracking. 🔴Where oxidized bitumen 115/25 is used? Because of its high softening point and low temperature sensitivity, bitumen 115/25 is widely used in: -Waterproofing membranes and roofing felts (as a coating or Saturating agent) -Pipe coating and anti-corrosion layers for underground pipelines -Adhesives, sealants and joint-filling compounds -Insulation materials and paints -Industrial coatings and automotive underbody products 🔴115/25 vs. 115/15 vs. 115/35 All three belong to the same oxidized family with a nominal softening point of about 115 °C. The second number is the hardness: 115/15 is the hardest, 115/25 is balanced, and 115/35 is the softest. If you need more flexibility than 115/15 but better heat resistance than 115/35 (or lower grades), 115/25 is the practical middle option.
